Rental rules

All students are automatically registered for the school library and receive a unique library card upon their first visit. This card remains valid throughout their schooling. To borrow books, always carry your library card with you. You'll need it to borrow and return materials, and it can't be borrowed or returned without it. If your card is full, bring it to the library to get a new one. If you lose it, you can replace it once a year. You can borrow up to three items at a time for 14 days. The borrowing period can be extended for another 14 days, but not for books on the assigned reading list or the ones on the reading badge list. After the extended period, materials must be returned. There are no late fees for overdue materials. At the end of each school year, all borrowed materials must be returned to the school library. In case of loss or damage, borrowers must replace the material with an identical copy (if
available) or one of similar value.

Textbook fund

The Vižmarje - Brod Primary School has a textbook fund, which allows every student at the school to borrow textbooks free of charge, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. Students who wish to borrow textbooks from the textbook fund must submit a form to their homeroom teachers by a specific date in June. They will receive their textbooks in the first week of the new school year. Upon receiving the textbooks, they will fill in a record sheet with the titles and inventory numbers of the textbooks received. At the end of the school year, they must return the textbooks that have same inventory numbers. When returning their textbooks, as set by their homeroom teachers, pupils will bring to school all the textbooks they have borrowed and as many self-adhesive A4 PVC covers and stickers as they have borrowed. The textbooks will be unwrapped, taped up if damaged and rewrapped at school. Students are obligated to pay compensation for unreturned, damaged, or destroyed textbooks, the amount of which depends on the purchase price and the age of the textbook.

Book club

Our book club is open to grade 7-9 students who love reading. At each meeting, we discuss the chosen book and any related topics.

WE MEET AT THE LIBRARY ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH FROM 7:40 TO 8:25, starting in September and ending in May. YOU'RE INVITED TO JOIN US FOR A RELAXED CHAT WITH TEA AND COOKIES.
